the idea is to try and optimize a display of available gigs based on three assumptions:
gig lookers from the yak collective are interested in particular types of information (hope i got them right... pls advise).
a graphical display helps expose some of the information in a way that is easy for a gig searcher to assimilate and use for fast filtering.
yaks are international. so are some gigs. the map helps a yak see if the gig is in their area and/or international.
*at this time, i do not have a good model for "looking for a gig" entries
logic of demo
on this page you may define a gig.
once posted, you get a dedicated gig page and a gig number. you can copy the link.
each gig also has an unfurl format, which includes the graphics, the keywords and the description.
this means the gist of the gig will appear in discord messages and probably also other messaging tools.
someday there will be a page for seeing a list of the gigs caveat: remember this is still a demo. nothing too reliable.
also, i am not implementing editing, additional data fields, logging in etc., as this is not a production system. this is a demo, so please give feedback! either on discord channel #take-gig-leave-gig or by email: showgig@fensterfamily.net
how to use?
use sliders to select the relative amount of each of the properties of the gig.
view results in the spider chart display.
give the gig a short title.
write a short description of the gig. use hashmarks ("#") to indicate keywords that should stand out. these hashmarks will be removed when viewing.
in map select a map size people can recognize and mark the approximate geographical region where gig-takers may reasonably come from. you can zoom out the map to cover the entire world, too.
